Grevpode Gallery represents the work of artists Poppa Wilson, Granny1 and Evan King.
With bright colours and immersive folk art installations, Grevpode Gallery is a unique art experience in Ontario. The art of Poppa Wilson and the Grevpode Gallery is filled with vibrant colour, whimsical narratives, and bold textures. In installations, bright paintings, and sculptures, the artists often use found materials, including wood, tin, string, cloth, and old clothing.
Grevpode Gallery is located at the private home of the late Poppa Wilson and his wife, Granny. Although their home is not open to the public it is an artwork itself, with every surface and corner treated to their signature vision. In addition to colourful and locally made folk art, the gallery also features antique and vintage folk and outsider art including early pieces of William Roach from Nova Scotia.
Grevpode's own Poppa Wilson (1925-2020) was recently featured alongside Maud Lewis at the Art Gallery of Hamilton.
